Yaai THAÏ

Vous avez envie de vous évader tout en restant au cœur de Paris ? Vous vous promenez près des Grands Boulevards et cherchez une adresse originale pour un dîner entre amis ? Faites d’une pierre deux coups et poussez les portes de Yaai Thaï, nouveau restaurant thaïlandais à la sortie du métro Bonne Nouvelle. Si ses quelques tables en terrasse ne laissent rien présager du décor intérieur, franchissez les portes de l’établissement et engouffrez-vous dans les rues de Bangkok comme si vous y étiez ! Imaginez-vous en vacances et prenez place autour d’une table haute face à la cuisine/wok ouverte ou encore sur une banquette dans un décor aux plantes grimpantes rappelant les paillotes des plages thaïlandaises. Partout où l’œil se pose, le dépaysement est total entre panneaux de signalisation thaïlandais ou publicitaires lumineux (Coca-Cola, 7-Eleven), néons, lampions et objets chinés directement en Asie. A la carte, salades, currys, nouilles sautées et autres spécialités concoctées par la Chef thaïlandaise Jay. Sans oublier les cocktails exotiques avec ou sans alcool mais toujours punchy et fruités ! Nos coups de cœur à la carte ? Le panier d’entrées à partager (gyoza, nems, délicieuses lamelles de bœuf grillé, bouchées vapeur, brochettes…), le Kaï Phad Med (émincé de poulet sauté aux noix de cajou, champignons noirs), la soupe Tom Kha au lait de coco, le curry rouge, le Pad Thaï ou encore le riz gluant et sa mangue fraîche. A noter que pour la plupart des plats, c’est à vous de choisir votre version entre bœuf, poulet, légumes ou crevettes. Enfin, côté playlist, la musique va de 50 Cent à Pharrell en passant par les grands classiques Funk et Disco des années 80. D’autres établissements devraient rapidement voir le jour à Paris, notamment dans le 14ème arrondissement.

Kill two birds with one stone and push the doors of Yaai Thaï,  brand new Thai restaurant (Bonne Nouvelle subway). If the few tables on the terrace have nothing to do with the indoor design, enter the restaurant’s doors for a one-way ticket to Bangkok’s streets, as if you were in Thailand ! Picture yourself on vacation and seat around the standing tables facing the open kitchen/wok or on a bench in a setting with climbing plants recalling the huts from Thailand beaches. Wherever the eye falls, the escape is total between Thailand traffic signs, luminous billboards (Coca-Colas, 7-Eleven), neon lights, lanterns and furniture from Asia. On the menu, salads, currys, fried noodles and other Thai classics by the Chef Jay. No mentioning the exotic homemade cocktails, with or without alcohol, but always strong and fruity ! Our crushes ? The basket of starters to split (gyoza, spring rolls, delicious slices of grilled beef, steamed specialties, brochettes…), the Kaï Phad Med (slices of fried chicken with cashew nuts and black mushrooms), the Tom Kha soup with coco milk, the red curry, the Pad Thai and the sticky rice with fresh mango. Most of the dishes allow you to choose between a beef, chicken, vegetables or shrimp version. As for the playlist, the music goes from 50 Cent to Pharrell passing through the Funk and Disco classics from the 80’s. Other restaurants should be opened quickly in Paris, notably in the 14th District.
